Zusammenfassung

Alkohol- und Substanzmittelkonsumstörungen, wie die Abhängigkeit und der schädliche Konsum zählen zu den häufigsten komorbiden Krankheitsbildern bei bipolaren Patienten. Diese komorbiden Störungen haben wechselseitig einen signifikanten Einfluss auf die Schwere der jeweils anderen Erkrankung und die Prognose.

Eine Reihe von Studien bei Betroffenen mit dieser Komorbidität wurden in den letzten Jahren publiziert. Dazu zählen doppelblinde, kontrollierte Untersuchungen zu Pharmaka ebenso wie der Einsatz von psychotherapeutischen Verfahren in 2 Studien.

Ergebnisse hinsichtlich einer kombinierten Therapie, die auch prospektiv vorliegen, liefern Hinweise auf die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen kombinierter und integrierter Therapien bei Personen mit Alkoholkonsumstörungen und bipolaren ­Erkrankungen.

Abstract

Alcohol use disorders (AUD), just like dependence and hazardous use, are frequently seen as comorbid conditions in bipolar affective disorders (BAS). These comorbid disorders significantly influence the severity and prognosis of each other.

A number of studies in comorbid individuals with alcohol dependence and bipolar disorders were published in recent years. These include placebo-controlled clinical trials testing efficacy of several medications as well as treatment with psychotherapeutic approaches. The cross-section and prospective results highlight the strengths and limitations of combined/integrated approaches in treatment of comorbid bipolar and alcohol-dependent persons.
