Dr. Sarah Vogler is the Vice Chair of Operations and Section Chief of Pelvic Floor Disorders within the Department of Colorectal Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. Sarah was born in Cincinnati, OH, and received her Bachelor of Science degree at Gannon University in Erie, PA, graduating Summa Cum Laude. While there, she was a member of the varsity cross country and swim team and was a National Collegiate Athletic Association Division II Scholar Athlete and Woman's Blue Ribbon Recipient. She then went on to medical school at the University of Cincinnati, where she also received her Master's in Business Administration, again graduating Summa Cum Laude. She completed her General Surgery Residency training at University of Utah Hospitals & Clinics in Salt Lake City, UT, and performed her Colon & Rectal Surgery Residency training at the University of Minnesota. She returned to the University of Utah for a few years on staff, and then to the University of Minnesota, where she served as a Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery, as well as the Chief Operating Officer for Colon and Rectal Surgery Associates. Ultimately, we were lucky enough to recruit Sarah back here to Ohio in 2019, joining us as the head of Pelvic Floor Disorders at Cleveland Clinic Foundation.

Sarah has an extensive history in treating pelvic floor disease and robotic surgery. She serves as the Vice Chair for the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons' Steering Committee on Pelvic Floor Disorders since 2017, and has published multiple peer-reviewed manuscripts on various topics within the pelvic floor arena. She serves as a reviewer for multiple journals including the British Journal of Surgery, Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery, American Journal of Surgery, and Annals of Surgery; in addition to being on the editorial board of Diseases of the Colon and Rectum. Despite this, she maintains an extremely busy clinical schedule along with teaching medical students, residents, fellows, and advanced care practitioners. She is also incredibly skilled at practice management, utilizing her MBA to its fullest with the development and incorporation of efficiencies, care pathways, and multidisciplinary programs. She is also actively involved with several national committees for the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, Association of Women Surgeons, and American College of Surgeons.

When not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and running. On a personal note, it is fantastic to work with such a professional of the highest work ethic and integrity and incredible technical skill.
