‘der kleine kwibus’ -'the small kwibus,' according to creators Mickler and Reis, originated from Boenninghausen's motto quis, quid, quibus auxiliis, cur, quomodo, quando (Who, what, where, by what means, why, how, when?). Quite honestly they liked the sound of quibus and thus arose the name ‘kwibus calendar.’

Reis (b. 1961) is a classical homeopathic practitioner and heilpraktiker who has been in practice since 1987. He established the Dynamis-Schule für Homöopathie in 1994 and is co-founder and co-principal of “Kwibus-Verlag” (together with Thomas Mickler) as well as co-editor of Archiv fuer Homoeopathik (1992–1997) and Neues Archiv fuer Homoeopathik (2006–2007).

Mickler (b. 1963), like Reis, is a classical homeopath and heilpraktiker and has been in practice since 2017 in Essen, Germany. Aside from homeopathy, one of his specialties is Bilateral Nasal Specific (BNS) technique.

Sometimes a quote, then a cartoon, little stories, a portrait, a poem … sometimes something instructive, then again something bizarre, exhilarating and so on. The calendar, which I am reviewing, is their first which came out in 2007. It was followed in 2009 and then in 2018. These were the only years it was produced and the two authors, owners of ‘KWIBUS-Verlag fur homoopathische Literature OHG,’ informed me that there will be a 2022 calendar. That makes me happy because if the one planned is as good as the previous three, everyone who purchases their ‘tear-off calendar’ will be quite pleased.

The Mickler/Reis flip-calendar, can either be laid on a flat surface or hung on the wall as there is a hole punched through the entire calendar at the center of the top. With each day, one may either flip the page over or tear off a page: it's that simple and up to you.

As can be expected, I noticed several mistakes, none of which should prevent you from making a purchase. For example, Paul Dahlke's death is cited twice, April 29, 1928 and Feb. 27, 1928; Martin Stubler's birth date is cited twice, Nov. 6 and 11th of 1915; Edwin Merrill Kellogg's birthdate is also cited twice, Sept. 1, 1826 and Sept. 20, 1826. Gaetano Gagliardi's death date is also uncertain and cited as, Sept. 2 or 29, 1964. I do not know if other mistakes exist but again, these should not deter one from gaining pleasure from the author's artistic achievement. For the record: Dahlke (1–25–1865 - 2–29–1928); Stubler (11–6-1915 - 8–16–1989); Kellogg (9–20–1826 - 6–6-1905) and Gagliardi (1897 - 9–29–1964).

The calendar is in the German language but now and again you'll come to a page or two in the English language. For those with some knowledge of German, this calendar will be appreciated and those without can still gain information and pleasure. If this calendar were in English, it might gain a wider audience as most people involved with homeopathy know or have a good working knowledge of English.
