Schmerzen bei Neugeborenen sind immer noch ein aktuelles Thema, das nicht vernachlässigt werden darf. Dabei ist die Thematik nicht nur für Intensivpflegefachfrauen in der Neonatologie, sondern auch für Hebammen, die sich um Termingeborene kümmern von Relevanz. Eva Cignacco Müller vermittelte auf dem Forum Hebammenarbeit 2016 in Mainz einen Überblick über die geschichtliche Entwicklung und aktuelle Studien zur Schmerzversorgung Neugeborener und präsentierte evidenzbasierte Empfehlungen für die Praxis.
