Intramolecular addition of silylacetylene to the aldehyde was effected to cyclize 10-membered enediyne compound with cesium fluoride in the presence of 18-crown-6 in THF. A small amount of acetonitrile improved the yield and reproducibility. The product was transformed to the enone which is a new simple. model compound of esperamicin/calicheamicin aglycon.
