Dear Readers and Authors,

Our international journal has reported research results and trends in sports medicine and physiology for over 25 years. During this time the quality and strength of the journal in the field has grown considerably. As a reader of the International Journal of Sports Medicine you will already be aware of the excellence and relevance of the information provided in this publication.

In 2003 our ISI impact factor increased yet again up to 1.374, and interest and support in the journal has been unwavering. To reflect this, it is with pride and pleasure that we inform you the number of issues produced in 2005 will be raised to 10 per annum.

The growing popularity and international recognition that the journal has acquired has been accompanied by a large increase in the number of high-quality papers submitted. 10 issues per annum will ensure all these developments in sports medicine and exercise science are conveyed quickly and receive due exposure.

An additional development for the journal has been the introduction of eFirst, the platform for advanced online publication. Approved papers appear online several weeks before they are published in print providing faster access to the most recent and up-to-date research publications.

We look forward to continuing to present to you topical, reliable research papers throughout 2005 and thank you for your ongoing support of this publication.
