Abstract

We have synthesized a series of palladium(II) complexes derived from chelating phosphino carboxylic and sulfonic acids. These compounds form highly active catalysts for the Heck reaction of bromobenzene with styrene and n-butyl acrylate. High yields and turnover numbers of up to 96,000 have been obtained.
