Significance

A newly developed mild protocol for the generation of dihalogenindium hydrides is described. This new promising reagent allows performing a number of inter- and intramolecular radical reactions with highly sensitive substrates. It generates efficiently the InCl2 radical in the presence of catalytic amounts of Et3B.
