Significance

In the present paper, the authors examine the utility of their recently developed SDP ligand (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. 2002, 41, 2348-2350) for the Rh-catalyzed asymmetric silylcyclization of 1,6-enynes. This nearly unexplored topic (for the only other report, see: H. Chakrapani, C. Liu, R. A. Widenhoefer Org Lett. 2003, 5, 157-159) allows for easy access to enantioenriched methylene pyrrolidines.
