Zusammenfassung

Im vorliegenden Fallbericht werden die Ergebnisse einer chirurgisch unterstützten Behandlung einer Klasse-III-Fehlbisslage mit einer Gesichtsmaske vorgestellt. Die 13 Jahre alte Patientin hatte eine skelettale Klasse-III-Fehlbisslage mit maxillärer Retrognathie und normalem vertikalem Wachstumsmuster. Im Anschluss an eine Le Fort-I-Osteotomie wurde eine Gesichtsmaske angewandt, um den Oberkiefer nach anterior zu bewegen. Nach Erreichen einer Klasse-I-Beziehung wurde die Behandlung mit festsitzenden Apparaturen beendet. Der Profilverlauf des Gesichtes verbesserte sich deutlich.

Abstract

Treatment results of a class III skeletal malocclusion characterized by maxillary retrognathy and normal vertical growth pattern are presented. A female patient of 13 years of age was treated with a face mask to advance the maxilla following Le Fort I osteotomy. After a class I relationship had been achieved, treatment was continued by fixed appliances and succesfully completed. Soft tissue profile had improved remarkably.
