Abstract
The analgesic effect of intraarticularly applicable medicaments is well known. Several authors describe subjective improvements during clinical studies (Verbruggen and Veys, 1977; Eichler and Nöh, 1970; Hieber, 1971). Biochemical effects are also the subject of numerous projects, especially of the pharmaceutical industry.
The target of this research is to support the clarification of viscoelastic qualities of human cartilage under the influence of different intraarticularly applicable medicaments.
Indentation/time curves for human articular cartilage have been defined before incubation in medicament and Hank's isotonic solution as well as after incubation.
In comparison with the series which had not been conducted with medicaments all other series had shown an increase of indentation except the series conducted with "Corticoid-Medicament".
The knowledge of the mechanic qualities of human articular cartilage is shown by means of examples.
Zusammenfassung
Gelenkknorpelproben von Operationsmaterial wurden vor und nach Inkubation mit Nährlösung und Pharmakon einer Bestimmung ihrer Kugeldruckhärte unterzogen.
Abgesehen von einem Kortikoidpräparat konnte bei allen anderen Medikamenten eine Erhöhung der Eindringtiefe bezogen auf die Vergleichsserie beobachtet werden.
Der gegenwärtige Kenntnisstand über die Knorpelmechanik wird anhand einer Literaturübersicht skizziert.
