Significance

This paper demonstrates the Pd-catalyzed asymmetric allylic alkylation of 2-substituted cycloalkenyl carbonates using a chiral diaminophosphine oxide. With this catalyst system, the corresponding products were obtained in excellent yields and high enantioselectivities. Furthermore, the authors described transformations of the reaction adducts to chiral heterobicycles with a quaternary carbon center.
