The bed-side focused echocardiography is the basis of differential diagnosis and acute diagnosis. Individual therapy monitoring is complex due to the strong preload dependence of the right ventricle and the limitation of non-invasive estimation of pulmonary-vascular hemodynamics, so that the indication for a pulmonary artery catheter should be liberal in acute right heart failure. The treatment goals of acute right heart failure are the treatment of the underlying disease or triggering factors in combination with individualized optimization of hemodynamic tailored to current right-ventricular function.
