Summary
The surgical removal of long standing a. v.-fistulas rarely leads to a regression of the mostly remarkable dilatation of the afferent artery. In two patients we diagnosed a progredience. There is always the danger of a rupture with fatal hemorrhage. In certain cases a early resection of the proximal vascular sectors is therefore advisable especially if progression of these dilatation is detectable.
