Bluthochdruck ist bekanntlich eine der Hauptursachen für Herz-Kreislauf-Erkrankungen, Niereninsuffizenz, Hirnschlag, Demenz oder Netzhautveränderungen [2] [4]. Trotzdem unterschätzt der „zivilisierte” Mensch vielfach dessen Risiko, denn hoher Blutdruck macht sich eben nicht durch Beschwerden bemerkbar, d. h. Frühwarnsymptome fehlen oder werden bagatellisiert.
