Abstract
Spondylectomy may be applied to primary as well as metastatic tumors of the spine when guided by appropriate indications. Patient anatomy and neurological function play a strong role in the surgical planning of cervical and thoracic spondylectomy. Additional consideration must be given to spinal biomechanics for spinal reconstruction following spondylectomy.
