Pädophilie gilt als „das Böse“ par excellence. Fiktionale Inszenierungen von Sexualverbrechen an Kindern, etwa im Film „Es geschah am hellichten Tag“, und mediale Aufbereitungen realer spektakulärer Kriminalfälle, etwa des Falls Jürgen Bartsch, prägen bis heute die Assoziationen, die wir mit diesem Begriff verbinden. Bei den Darstellungen der Täter wird dabei aber häufig nicht zwischen ihren Taten und der Darstellung ihrer Sexualität unterschieden.
