Die Hautpflege bei Neugeborenen und Säuglingen ist ein wichtiges Thema in der Beratung junger Eltern. Die mit diesem Fachartikel beginnende dreiteilige Serie vermittelt Grundlagenwissen und konkrete Empfehlungen für eine evidenzbasierte Pflege der Säuglingshaut. Teil 1 veranschaulicht Aufbau und Funktionen der Haut, die Besonderheiten der Neugeborenen- und Säuglingshaut sowie stärkende und störende Faktoren für die Hautschutzbarriere.
