In den Jahren 2017 und 2018 wurden die neuen Empfehlungen für die Einstellung des Blutdrucks der amerikanischen und der europäischen Fachgesellschaften vorgestellt. Während die amerikanischen Blutdruckgesellschaften für alle Patienten inkl. den Patienten mit Nierenfunktionsstörungen ein Blutdruckziel von unter 130/80 mmHg anstreben [1], so ist die Empfehlung der europäischen Fachgesellschaft, den Blutdruck auf unter 140/70–79 mmHg zu senken und, wenn toleriert, den systolischen Blutdruck in den Bereich von 130 mmHg einzustellen [2].
