Wir freuen uns sehr über die Verleihung der Hellmut-Otto-Medaille der Deutschen Diabetes Gesellschaft, da wir beide Herrn Prof. Otto gut kannten und mit ihm völlig darin übereinstimmen, dass der Patient im Mittelpunkt der Therapie stehen und dementsprechend auch angemessen unterstützt werden muss. Sein Ansatz, die ambulante Schulung und praxenübergreifende Schulungsgemeinschaften zu fördern, war ein gemeinsames Anliegen, für das wir nicht selten gemeinsam durch die Republik getourt sind.
