Prävention im Hautschutzzentrum – ein Konzept zur erfolgreichen Vermeidung von Berufsunfähigkeit

Zusammenfassung

Berufsbedingte Erkrankungen der Haut erfordern umfangreiche Maßnahmen zur Verhinderung einer krankheitsbedingten Berufsaufgabe. Adäquate Diagnostik und Therapie sind wichtig, aber zur Wiederherstellung von Arbeitsfähigkeit und hautgesunder Weiterbeschäftigung allein oft nicht ausreichend. Das Konzept eines Hautschutzzentrums vereint alle wesentlichen Voraussetzungen für eine erfolgreiche Intervention in Zusammenarbeit mit den Gesetzlichen Unfallversicherern. Entscheidend ist die zeitnahe, umfassende Evaluation aller Ursachen sowie deren Beseitigung. Je länger die entscheidenden Stellschrauben nicht gedreht werden, desto eher ist durch Chronifizierung und Entstehen von Allergien ein Krankheitszustand erreicht, der ein hautgesundes Weiterarbeiten in dem häufig geliebten Beruf unmöglich macht. Neben organisatorischen und technischen Veränderungen beruht ein wesentlicher Teil des Erfolgs eines Hautschutzzentrums auf der Induktion und dem dauerhaften Etablieren grundlegender Verhaltensänderungen der Betroffenen.

Abstract

A variety of measures is needed to prevent job loss as a result of an occupational skin disease. In order to achieve a successful restoration of work capacity and stable health of the skin, diagnostics and therapy are important but in many cases not sufficient. The concept of a Skin Protection Center (German: Hautschutzzentrum), a specialized dermatological doctor’s office focussing on occupational skin protection, combines all the necessary requirements for a comprehensive treatment in cooperation with the Institution for Statuatory Accident Insurance and Prevention. The quick and extensive evaluation of all the causes and possible cures of a skin disease is crucial. The longer this process takes, the higher is the risk of permanent loss of the ability to work in the given field due to newly developed allergies and chronification. In addition to both organizational and technical changes at the workplace, a key factor for the success of the Skin Protection Center is to establish and encourage permanent behavioural changes in the patient, ensuring successful treatment on a long-term basis.
