Bei Sportlern ist die Achillessehnentendinopathie eine Überlastungsverletzung, die unbehandelt häufig chronifiziert [1], [2]. Der dauerhafte Schmerz hängt dabei allerdings nicht immer mit einer strukturellen Schädigung zusammen. Eine Sensitivierung des peripheren und zentrales Schmerzsystems könnte ein Mechanismus sein, mit dem sich der dauerhafte Sehnenschmerz erklären lassen würde [3]–[5].
