Aktuelle Studien zeigen überzeugende Effekte sportlicher Aktivität bei Patienten mit psychischen Erkrankungen. Im ambulanten Versorgungskontext gibt es derzeit jedoch kaum sport-und bewegungstherapeutische Ansätze. Der Übersichtsartikel vermittelt Grundlagen zur Wirkung sportlicher Aktivität auf psychische Erkrankungen. Anhand des Gruppenprogramms „ImPuls“ wird eine potenzielle Umsetzung der Erkenntnisse in die ambulante Versorgung dargestellt.
