Abstract

The skin, our largest organ, acts as an external defence barrier, protecting the internal body from harmful and damaging influences. Therefore, immunology and dermatology are closely linked.

In dermatological practices we frequently have to deal with diagnosing immunological skin diseases and subsequent immunotherapy, laboratory analyses and hyposensitisation. The aim of this presentation is to show, in a practical way, how immunology can help dermatologists in this specialist discipline.
