Cobalamin (Vitamin B12) – Diagnostische und therapeutische Bedeutung in der Kleintiergastroenterologie

Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin) ist ein wasserlösliches B-Vitamin, das über spezifische Rezeptoren im distalen Dünndarm absorbiert wird [1], [2]. In der Kleintiergastroenterologie erfährt dieses Vitamin sowohl diagnostisch als auch therapeutisch große Beachtung. Vielfältige Ursachen können zu Veränderungen im Serum-Cobalaminstatus bei Kleintierpatienten führen [2], die im Folgenden näher beleuchtet werden.
