Abstract

Molar incisor hypomineralization (MIH) is a qualitative defect of the enamel that classically occurs in one to four permanent first molars with or without involvement of the incisors. Characteristic features are opacities, posteruptive breakdowns and the existance of hypersensitivities. Hypersensitive MIH teeth in particular can be a challenge for the dentist. Here, the therapy spectrum ranges from the regular use of pastes to sealing of the teeth.
