We would like to take the chance in this first Issue in 2025 to introduce Saskia Wortmann as the new co-editor-in-chief of Neuropediatrics. Saskia graduated from medical school at RWTH Aachen University, Germany, in 2004, where she also completed an MD (2005) in cytokine receptor signaling. This was followed by a residency in Pediatrics (2010) and a fellowship in inborn metabolic diseases (2013) at the Amalia Children's Hospital, Radboudumc, Nijmegen (The Netherlands), where she also completed a PhD in biomedical sciences focusing on mitochondrial diseases (2013). Since 2013, Saskia works as a clinical lead for inborn metabolic diseases at the University Children's hospital Salzburg, Austria. Her key areas of interest are mitochondrial diseases, neurometabolic disorders and neurodevelopmental disorders where she not only focuses on unravelling new disorders but especially developing pathomechanism-based treatments.

We would like to thank the authors for choosing Neuropediatrics to publish and disseminate their scientific work, including case presentations and reviews, and encourage them to continue so in 2025. We look forward!

We also would like to express our gratitude to all the reviewers in 2024. We thank them for their time, their valuable comments and suggestions that helped us to the select the most interesting and sound research for you, our readers.
