Imaging of Anal Fistula
Fisteln und Abszesse zählen zu den häufigen Erkrankungen des Anorektums, wobei der Abszess das akute und die Fistel das chronische Stadium der Entzündung repräsentiert. Der Gruppe der kryptoglandulären Analfisteln stehen die Crohnassoziierten Fisteln gegenüber. Nachweis und exakte Differenzierung der unterschiedlichen Fistelklassen ist Aufgabe der Bildgebung und Basis für die individuelle Behandlungsplanung.
Abstract
Fistula and abscess are amongst the most common diseases oft the anorectum. To date, the management of complex anal fistulae in particular remains challenging. Fecal incontinence and fistula recurrence are the two major concerns. Besides cryptoglandular fistulae, perianal fistulizing Crohn`s disease often cause considerable morbidity since medical and surgical treatments rarely lead to long-term healing. In this context, MRI is the diagnostic gold standard and plays a pivotal role in detecting and classifying anal fistulae irrespective of the planned treatment regimen.Abstract trans Stopp
