Male Facial Rejuvenation
Authors

It is a privilege to introduce this special issue dedicated to male facial plastic surgery. For much of the modern era, the aesthetic ideals and innovations within our field have largely been defined in relation to female patients. Yet, the male aesthetic has its own distinct history—rooted in cultural perceptions of strength, balance, and vitality—and it continues to evolve in compelling ways.
Over the past two decades, we have witnessed a significant shift: men are increasingly seeking facial plastic surgery not only to address the signs of aging but also to refine features in a manner that maintains authenticity and natural character. This rise reflects a broader societal acceptance of male self-care and the recognition that confidence is closely tied to appearance.
Importantly, aesthetics today extends beyond the operating room. Skincare has emerged as an essential component of maintaining results and supporting long-term facial health, and it rightly deserves its place alongside surgical and nonsurgical treatments in this discussion.
This issue is further enriched by the thoughtful contributions of my colleagues, who bring both depth and diversity of perspective. Their expertise reflects the breadth of our specialty—from surgical refinements to emerging trends in skincare—and underscores the collective talent within our field. I am deeply grateful for their insights and recognition of the many innovators whose work has helped shape this edition.
I hope this collection offers valuable insights into the nuances of treating male patients and highlights the unique opportunities we all have to meet the needs of this growing and dynamic population.
