Zusammenfassung
Adipositas ist eine chronische Erkrankung mit einer ausgeprägten psychischen und somatischen
Komorbidität und erhöhter Mortalität. Aufgrund der multifaktoriellen Genese und der
hohen Chronizität sollte diese Erkrankung gemäß den evidenzbasierten Leitlinien behandelt
werden. Eine Behandlungsmaßnahme sollte auf der Basis einer strukturierten Diagnostik
in Kooperation von verschiedenen Fachdisziplinen (Psychosomatik, Endokrinologie, Sportmedizin,
Ernährungsmedizin und Chirurgie) erfolgen, da nur so spezifische patientenzentrierte
Interventionen geplant werden können. Psychotherapeutisch finden verhaltenstherapeutische
Ansätze die größte Beachtung und sind zumindest kurzfristig erfolgversprechend. Zu
psychodynamischen Therapien gibt es kaum systematische Untersuchungen. Forschungsergebnisse
sprechen für längerfristig angelegte Nachsorgeprogramme, die zu einer dauerhaften
Verhaltensänderung der Patienten im Alltag beitragen und einer neuerlichen Gewichtszunahme
entgegentreten. Bei weiteren Untersuchungen zur effektiven Nachsorge sollte auch dem
Nutzen neuer Medien eine größere Bedeutung zukommen.
