Summary

1. The time course of maximal development of physiological dependence to sodium barbital in dogs is presented.

2. A method for grading the severity of the abstinence Syndrome from barbiturates is presented.

3. A rapid method for determining the potential barbiturate like physiological dependence capacity of sedative-hypnotic agents is presented. Shortcomings of this procedure are also discussed.

4 Supported by a grant from the International Institute of Education.

Zusammenfassung
