The Correlation between Degeneration of the Nigro-Neostriatal Dopamine Neuron System and Oxotremorine and Guanethidine Induced Tremor*

Summary

The correlation between 6-hydroxy-dopamine induced degeneration of the whole nigroneostriatal dopamine neuron system and both the rest and the intentional tremor has been investigated in rats. It has been found a decrease in intensity of rest tremor and an increase in intensity of intentional tremor.

Zusammenfassung

Die Korrelation zwischen der 6-hydroxy-dopamininduzierten Degeneration des ganzen nigroneostriatalen dopaminergen Neuronensystems einerseits und dem Ruhe- bzw. intentionalen Tremor andererseits wurde bei Ratten untersucht. Es wurde eine Intensitätsabnahme des Ruhetremors und eine Ausprägungszunahme des intentionalen Tremors festgestellt.
