Myelographie bei Patienten mit akutem Cauda-Equina-Syndrom^*

Zusammenfassung

51 Patienten mit akutem Caudasyndrom wurden als dringende Fälle Tag und Nacht myelographiert. Bei 23 fand man Kontrastmittelstop aufgrund verschiedenartiger Ätiologie, darüber hinaus 13 Diskushernien, 2 Spinalstenosen und 13 Patienten mit unbedeutenden oder negativen Befunden. Die Schemata, die wir zwecks Klärung der Ätiologie und der Stophöhe entwickelt haben, scheinen zufriedenstellend zu sein, obwohl uns bei 23 Kontrastmittelstops 3 Irrtümer unterlaufen sind.

Summary

An emergency myelography was performed on 51 patients with acute cauda equina syndrome. Altogether 23 total obstructions for various causes were found; as well as 13 disc herniations, 2 spinal stenoses and 13 patients with minimal findings in watersoluble myelography. A scheme was developed to analyse the cause of the obstruction and the level of the obstruction in disc herniation cases. The scheme seems to function fairly well, although we have had three errors in the diagnoses of 23 obstructions.
