Das durchschnittliche Alter der Erstgebärenden in Deutschland ist in den letzten Jahren deutlich angestiegen. Ein höheres mütterliches Alter (> 35 Lebensjahre) gilt als Risikofaktor für Frühkomplikationen wie Aborte, ­Extra­uteringraviditäten und chromosomale Störungen, und spätere ­Komplika­tionen wie Frühgeburten, Hypertonus, Gestationsdiabetes oder Placenta praevia. Dieser Beitrag fasst die aktuelle Studienlage zum Alter der Mutter als Risikofaktor zusammen.
