Abstract

The article describes the connection between buccolingual inclination of molars and transverse skeletal jaw relationship. The rationale of identifying and treating a masked skeletal transverse discrepancy is discussed and the benefit of that treatment approach for the whole orthodontic therapy is outlined. Three case presentations illustrate the recommended treatment protocol.
