Instruktion als Aufgabe der Physiotherapie

Zusammenfassung

Hintergrund: Um chronisch kranke und schwer kranke Menschen auch außerhalb unmittelbarer Kontaktzeiten zum eigenständigen Umgang mit der Erkrankung und ihren Begleiterscheinungen zu befähigen, gewinnt die Instruktion in der Physiotherapie an Bedeutung.

Ziel: Der Beitrag bestimmt den gegenwärtigen Stellenwert der Instruktion als edukative Interventionsstrategie innerhalb des physiotherapeutischen Handlungsspektrums und kompiliert den Stand der Erkenntnisse zu diesem Thema.

Methode: Es wurde eine Recherche deutsch- und englischsprachiger Literatur durchgeführt und deren Befunde systematisiert und kritisch analysiert.

Ergebnisse: Die wenigen gefundenen Publikationen sind überwiegend englischsprachig und empirisch ausgerichtet. Sie dokumentieren vorwiegend Wirkungsanalysen der Instruktion im Kontext der Physiotherapie von Patienten mit Erkrankungen des muskuloskelettalen Systems. Deutschsprachige oder theoretisch-konzeptionell ausgerichtete Beiträge zum Thema ebenso wie zu epidemiologisch relevanten Patientengruppen oder zur Instruktion von Angehörigen fehlen weitgehend.

Schlussfolgerung: Wissenschaftliche Herausforderungen, die mit der Konzeptualisierung und Integration edukativer Interventionsstrategien in das physiotherapeutische Handlungsspektrum verbunden sind, bleiben derzeit noch weitgehend unbeantwortet.

Abstract

Background: In order to enable chronically and severely ill patients to independently comply with their disease and its concomitant symptoms even off consultation hours in physiotherapy instruction gains in importance.

Objective: This article determines the current significance of instruction as educational intervention strategy within physiotherapeutic operational spectrum and compiles the current materials that reflect this issue’s current state of knowledge.

Method: A research of German and English literature was performed and the results were systematically and critically analysed.

Results: The few existing articles are mainly in English and empirically-based. They predominantly record effect analyses of instruction within physiotherapy concerning patients with musculoskeletal disorders. There is an extensive lack of German or theoretical-conceptually-related papers on this issue as well as on epidemiologically relevant patient groups or instruction for family members.

Conclusion: The enormous scientific challenges attributed to the concept and integration of educational intervention strategies within physiotherapeutic operational spectrum remain largely unanswered to date.
