Prävention von Infektionen in Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe

Kernaussagen

Die Erkenntnis der Übertragbarkeit des Kindbettfiebers vor der Entdeckung von Infektionserregern war das Resultat konsequenter epidemiologischer Beobachtungen und Schlussfolgerungen auf rationaler Ebene.

Die sog. Basishygiene, also in erster Linie die Händehygiene, hat maßgeblich dazu beigetragen, die Häufigkeit des Kindbettfiebers zu reduzieren, und stellt auch heute noch in der Geburtshilfe die wichtigste Maßnahme zur Prävention von Erregerübertragungen auf Mutter und Kind dar.

Bei Infektionen der Mutter ist ihre gemeinsame Unterbringung mit dem Kind in einem Einzelzimmer die sicherste Maßnahme, eine Erregerübertragung auf andere Mütter und deren Neugeborene zu verhindern.

Zur Prävention von Erregerübertragungen bei der gemeinsamen Benutzung sanitärer Anlagen auf Wochenstationen ist die sorgfältige Wischdesinfektion aller potenziellen Kontaktflächen nach jeder Benutzung erforderlich.
