Neue ESC-Leitlinie zur Herzinsuffizienz – Ivabradin als wichtige Behandlungsoption aufgenommen

Bereits vor 2 Jahren hatte die SHIfT-Studie den Nachweis erbracht, dass der If-Kanal-Hemmer Ivabradin (Procoralan®) zusätzlich zu einer optimierten Vortherapie bei Patienten mit chronischer systolischer Herzinsuffizienz und erhöhter Herzfrequenz die kardiovaskuläre Mortalität und Morbidität senkt. Konsequenterweise wurde Ivabradin jetzt sehr rasch als wichtiger Baustein in die auf dem Heart Failure-Kongress 2012 in Belgrad vorgestellte neue Leitlinie der European Society of Cardiology (ESC) zur Diagnostik und Therapie der Herzinsuffizienz aufgenommen. Untermauert wird die therapeutische Relevanz der exklusiven Herzfrequenzreduktion mit Ivabradin bei Herzinsuffizienz zudem durch eine Reihe neu präsentierter Subgruppenanalysen aus der SHIfT-Studie.
