Infektionen mit felinen Coronaviren (FCoV) kommen weltweit vor und sind allgegenwärtig. Die Erstbeschreibung der felinen infektiösen Peritonitis (FIP) stammt bereits aus dem Jahr 1942. In der folgenden Übersicht werden praxisrelevante Fakten zum aktuellen Stand von Verbreitung, Pathogenese, Klinik, Diagnostik, Therapie und Prävention dargestellt.
