Juckreiz ist bei Meerschweinchen ein häufiges Hautproblem und damit Grund für eine Vorstellung in der Praxis. Da einige der auslösenden Ursachen als Zoonose angesehen werden, ist eine gründliche Aufarbeitung dieser Patienten wichtig, um eine adäquate Diagnose zu stellen. Die Beratung des Besitzers über das Ansteckungsrisiko und die notwendige Behandlung des Tieres und evtl. der Umgebung sind essentiell für den Therapieerfolg.
