Die Versorgung von chronischen Hufrehepatienten in Folge einer stoffwechselbedingten Hufrehe nimmt in den letzten Jahren zu. Die häufigsten Grunderkrankungen sind das Equine Metabolische Syndrom und Morbus Cushing. Bei der Betreuung kommt es auf ein individuell abgestimmtes Behandlungsregime an. Es sollte die Grunderkrankung behandelt werden und neben einer entzündungshemmenden Therapie eine adäquate Hufkorrektur und Schmerztherapie erfolgen.
