Der klinische Fall – Osteoarthritis des Schultergelenks bei einem Shetlandpony aufgrund einer Gelenkdysplasie

Eine 12 Jahre alte Shetlandponystute wurde aufgrund einer seit 3 Wochen anhaltenden Lahmheit der rechten Vordergliedmaße vorgestellt. Die Stute zeigte eine mittelgradige Hangbeinlahmheit mit verkürzter Vorführphase der betroffenen Gliedmaße. Aufgrund der klinisch-orthopädischen und der bildgebenden Untersuchung konnten eine geringgradige Osteoarthritis und Dysplasie der rechten Schulter diagnostiziert werden. Ein Jahr später erfolgte die erneute Vorstellung der Stute. Im Stand wurde eine Entlastungshaltung der rechten Vordergliedmaße beobachtet und es lag eine hochgradige Lahmheit vor. Das rechte Schultergelenk war bei Palpation druckdolent und Provokationsproben in diesem Bereich lösten deutliche Abwehrreaktionen aus. Bei der röntgenologischen Untersuchung wurde eine hochgradige Omarthrose diagnostiziert und die Stute aufgrund der infausten Prognose euthanasiert.
