Zusammenfassung

Erhöhte Cholesterinwerte sind laut der aktuellen DEGS1-Studie nach wie vor weit verbreitet. Diätetische Maßnahmen zur Cholesterinsenkung können effektiv durch den Einbezug von Pflanzensterinen ergänzt werden. Umfangreiche Studien belegen Wirksamkeit und Sicherheit von mit Pflanzensterinen angereicherten Lebensmitteln, was die Grundlage für Novel-Food- und Health-Claim-Zulassungen sowie Empfehlungen durch Fachgesellschaften ist.
