Zusammenfassung

Chronischer psychosozialer und physischer Stress erhöht das Risiko für die Entwicklung einer Demenz, da er die Vulneration von neuronalen Netzwerken und Gliazellen verstärkt. Funktionelle Störungen bis hin zum Zelluntergang betreffen dabei auf der Grundlage verschiedener pathologischer Prozesse unterschiedliche Kompartimente und Zellsysteme.
