Lokal applizierte Antibiotika können in der nicht chirurgischen Parodontitis-Behandlung das supra- und subgingivale Debridement als unterstützendes Therapiemittel ergänzen. Hier finden sie hauptsächlich bei persistierenden oder bei rezidivierenden Taschen mit einer Sondierungstiefe ≥5 mm und bei Blutungen nach dem Sondieren ihre Indikation. Prof. Dr. Ralf Rößler (Professur für interdisziplinäre Parodontologie und Prävention der praxisHochschule Köln am Standort Heidelberg und Leiter des Fortbildungsinstituts „Praxisdienste“) verwendet bereits seit 5 Jahren das Lokalantibiotikum Ligosan® Slow Release, dessen Wirkeffizienz und Komfort Studien und Anwender belegen. Im Folgenden Beitrag schildert Prof. Rößler seine Erfahrungen unter Einbeziehung eines Fallbeispiels.
