Zusammenfassung
Die Tumeszenzlokalanästhesie (TLA) wurde vor zehn Jahren von dem amerikanischen Dermatologen
und Pharmakologen J. Klein zur Erleichterung der kosmetischen Fettabsaugung eingeführt.
Nachdem sich diese Form der großen Lokalanästhesie außerordentlich gut bewährt hatte,
wurden ihre speziellen Vorteile nach und nach auch für andere Indikationen genutzt,
so auch in der Phlebologie. In diesem Beitrag werden Vor- und Nachteil der Methode
besprochen, soweit sie für die Phlebologie bedeutsam sind.
Summary
The tumescent technique for local anaesthesia (TLA) was introduced 10 years ago by
the American dermatologist and pharmacologist J. Klein to simplify cosmetic liposuction.
After proving its outstanding value, this form of major local anaesthesia and its
singular benefits have gradually been adopted for other indications, for instance
in phlebology. The present paper discusses the advantages and disadvantages of this
method insofar as they are important for phlebology.

L’anesthésie locale par tumescence (ALT) a été introduite par le dermatologue et pharmacologue
américain J. Klein il y a dix ans afin de faciliter la liposuccion cosmétique. Après
que cette forme de grande anesthésie locale ait fait ses preuves, ses avantages particuliers
furent exploités petit à petit pour d’autres indications, notamment en phlébologie.
Cet article aborde les avantages et les inconvénients de la méthode pour autant qu’ils
soient significatifs pour la phlébologie.
