Zusammenfassung

Die periradikuläre Therapie, die Injektion eines Medikaments in die Umgebung einer Nervenwurzel, stellt eine der häufigsten Interventionen im Rahmen der Behandlung von schmerzhaften Wirbelsäulensyndromen dar. Die wachsenden Erkenntnisse zu den neurogenen und inflammatorischen Komponenten radikulärer Schmerzsyndrome untermauern die Grundlage der Anwendung dieses Verfahrens. Die verschiedenen angewendeten Injektionstechniken unterscheiden sich nicht nur hinsichtlich ihrer nachgewiesenen Wirksamkeit, sondern auch wegen ihres Komplikationsspektrums. Ziel dieses Beitrags ist es, die unterschiedlichen Techniken und damit assoziierten Komplikationen darzustellen und einen Überblick zur evidenzbasierten Anwendung bei unterschiedlichen Krankheitsbildern zu geben.

Summary

Peri-radicular injections are one of the most common interventions in the treatment of spinal pain syndromes. Growing evidence supports the rationale of this therapeutic approach demonstrating the inflammatory and neurogenic components of spinal radicular pain syndromes. However the multiple injection techniques vary in terms of evidence-based efficacy and spectrum of complications. The objective of this article is to demonstrate the different injection techniques and their associated complications and review the evidence-based application of these techniques in different pathologies.
