Summary

The number of therapy options for chronic headaches are uncountable, similarly to other chronic diseases. In contrast to other areas of medical science, in the area of headache therapy there are first scientific studies about the efficiency of so-called alternative treatment options in comparison to classic therapy. Studies are especially available for phytotherapy, food supplements, physical therapy, acupuncture, surgical procedures, and stimulation with electrical or magnetic fields. The following article gives a summary of the current discussion.
