Paget's disease in temporal bone
Paget's disease of bone is a focal or multifocal disease of bone remodeling in which transformed, multinucleated osteoclasts excavate bone at a greatly accelerated rate. Cycle of osteolysis and repair continue to remodel affected bone as the lesion slowly enlarges. Pagetic bone becomes highly vascular and thicker but structually weaker.
These changes in turn may produce impairment of Hearing (about 30 – 50%) an vestibular symptoms (20 – 25%).
Our case Report is about a 68-year-old Patient, who had since about 18 monthes Hearing loss on the left side with Tinnitus, bus without vertigo or otalgy or otorrhea. the ENT examination was inconspicuous, she had a combined Hearing loss in the tonaudiometry. Temporal bone CT Shows a sclerotic extended tumorous process in temporal bone with expansion in the sphenoid bone.
