In dem vorliegenden Artikel werden gängige Verfahren zur speziellen Hornhautdiagnostik einzeln erläutert und die wichtigsten Messergebnisse dargestellt, sodass der Leser nach Lektüre dieses Beitrags die Verfahren sicher einsetzen kann und mit der Interpretation der Befunde vertraut ist. Wir möchten darauf hinweisen, dass neben den hier in diesem Artikel erläuterten Verfahren weitere Methoden (z. B. Keratometrie, Ästhesiometrie, Ultraschallbiomikroskopie, Fluorophotometrie, Spaltlampenuntersuchung mit Vitalfarbstoffen u. a.) zum Einsatz kommen, die bereits in anderen Artikeln der Reihe erörtert wurden und daher hier nicht detailliert beschrieben werden.
